ABOUT widowmaker
How we started
Marketing is a powerful thing.
Big-name companies dominate the walls, the ads, and the conversation. Their guitars are everywhere, and it’s easy to believe that unless you’re playing one of those brands, you somehow aren’t a serious musician.
It’s probably happened to most of us.
You see the ads. You buy into the legacy. You drop two thousand dollars—or more—on a big-name guitar. A signature model. A cherry burst flame top. A reissue of a so-called classic. For that kind of money, the guitar should practically play itself.
But then you get it home.
And something’s off.
It doesn’t feel right in your hands. It doesn’t sound the way you imagined. The magic you paid for just… isn’t there. What should have been inspiring ends up feeling like a compromise.
That experience—one we know all too well—became the catalyst for Widowmaker Guitars.
Widowmaker Guitars is a proudly American-owned, father-and-son business, built on the belief that inspiration doesn’t come from a price tag—it comes from the player. We’ve both spent the money. We’ve both chased the promise. And we learned the same lesson: feel, connection, and sound can’t be manufactured by branding alone.
We’re not here to say the tool doesn’t matter—it does. A guitar’s tone is the sum of many parts: the instrument itself, the wood, electronics, nut, strings, and tuners all play their role. Beyond that, the amplifier, cables, tubes, and speakers shape the final voice.
But there is one component that matters more than all the rest.
The player.
Technique—earned through hours of tireless learning. Scales and modes. Influences borrowed from favorite players. Time spent crafting a style, perfecting a blues riff, or locking in a shred arpeggio. That’s where real tone comes from.
A guitar doesn’t make you a player any more than the amount you paid for it does.
It’s in your hands. Literally.
That’s where we want to put a Widowmaker.
That’s why we design guitars meant to inspire you to play.
To practice.
To develop your technique.
To find your sound.
We believe a well-built guitar at a fair price gives you everything you need to grow as a musician—without paying for hype you didn’t ask for.
We couldn’t shake the feeling that there had to be a better answer for players. A guitar built with intention, not hype. One that respected the musician as much as the music. Quality craftsmanship. Honest value. No shortcuts. No inflated price tags riding on a logo.
Widowmaker exists to offer exactly that.
The music is in your hands.
We just provide the tool.
Built for players who want more.

“I'm absolutely thrilled with the guitar. I was a bit skeptical but after playing this thing I gladly handed over my cash. Unbelievable guitar and for the price, I should've bought two.”
- Luke Saltarelli
“I saw the WMRG with the natural flamed top and had to have it. It resonates better than any guitar I had, I bought two more. ”
